Name: Monkey Gland
Ingredients: 1½ oz gin; 1½ oz orange juice; 1 tsp grenadine; 1 tsp simple syrup; 1 tsp absinthe; [Dehydrated] orange slice.

Whoever named this one owed the drink an apology. Gin and orange juice have no business working, and yet they do. The absinthe gets a single spoonful and is told to behave, which for once it does.

Ingredients

1½ ozgin
1½ ozorange juice
1 tspgrenadine
1 tspsimple syrup
1 tspabsinthe

Garnish

[Dehydrated] orange slice.

Method

Combine ingredients in a shaker and fill with ice. Shake well until chilled, and strain into a chilled coupe glass. Place an orange slice (if you want to get fancy, use a dehydrated orange slice) as garnish.

Steve’s notes

The absinthe and grenadine can be a bit tricky...don't over-do either of them. The best route is to make one by the book, then play with the amounts for these two ingredients.
