Set it beside a Negroni and the resemblance holds right up until the lemon arrives. Muddle the fruit first, and thoroughly — it's doing as much sweetening as the syrup, so pull the syrup back if your grapes are ripe. The one Campari drink I can finish outdoors in August.
Ingredients
Where there's a range: the low end is lighter, the high end is fuller.
- 1½–2 ozgin
- 1 ozCampari
- ½ ozsimple syrup
- ¾ ozfreshly squeezed lemon juice
- 3–5blueberries/black raspberries/grapes (white/green)
Garnish
2-3 skewered berries of choice
Method
Muddle berries in a shaker. Add all the ingredients to a shaker and fill with ice. Shake, and strain into a highball glass filled with fresh ice. Garnish with 2-3 skewered berries of choice.
