Bespoke
sour · bourbon
A whiskey sour wearing a red wine hat, which is more or less what a New York Sour is when nobody is checking. Float the wine over the back of a spoon and go slowly, or you have made a cloudy purple mess. It looks considerably harder than it is.
Ingredients
Where there's a range: the low end is lighter, the high end is fuller.
- 2 ozBourbon
- ½ ozLemon juice
- ¾ ozSimple syrup
- 1–1½ ozRed wine — fruity, medium body, but dealer's choice; floated on top
Method
Add bourbon, lemon, and syrup into shaker w/ice and shake. Pour into a highball glass filled with ice. Float the wine on top of the drink by gently pouring over the back of a bar spoon to float the wine. Enjoy!
Steve’s notes
You may notice that this is essentially a whiskey sour with a wine float.
