Ingredients: Absinthe — to rinse the glass; ¾ oz London dry gin; ¾ oz Lillet blanc; ¾ oz orange liqueur; ¾ oz lemon juice, freshly squeezed

Stand it next to a White Lady and the difference is the absinthe, which never actually gets into the shaker. Rinse the glass and tip out everything that doesn't cling to the sides — poured in like a real ingredient, the licorice flattens everything else. The name makes a promise about mornings I've tested once and won't again.

Ingredients

—Absinthe — to rinse the glass
¾ ozLondon dry gin
¾ ozLillet blanc
¾ ozorange liqueur
¾ ozlemon juice, freshly squeezed

Method

Rinse the inside of a chilled coupe or cocktail glass with absinthe, discard the excess and set the glass aside. Add the remaining ingredients into a shaker with ice and shake until well-chilled. Strain into the prepared glass.
