Gingerbread Eggnog
other · vodka
Second week of December, when dessert has quietly become a beverage. Molasses is doing all the gingerbread work and it won't dissolve in anything cold, so shake harder than you think you need to or the last glass poured is mostly molasses. It claims to serve four, and it does not.

- 1 cupvodka — yields ~1 oz per serving (batch recipe, serves 4)
- 1 cupcoffee liqueur — yields ~1 oz per serving (batch recipe, serves 4)
- 1 cupeggnog — yields ~1 oz per serving (batch recipe, serves 4)
- 2 tbspmolasses — alternate: 3/4 teaspoon
- pinchground ginger
- —cinnamon sugar and molasses — for rim; muscovado sugar could substitute
- —whipped cream and more molasses — for garnish
Garnish
Whipped cream and a drizzle of molasses; cinnamon-sugar rim
Method
Pour a small amount of molasses and cinnamon sugar onto two separate, small plates. Dip the rim of your glass into the molasses, then into the cinnamon to coat. Add ice, vodka, coffee liqueur, eggnog, 2 tbsp. molasses and ginger to a cocktail shaker and shake well. Pour cocktail into four glasses. Garnish with whipped cream, then drizzle molasses on top.
