Lady in Blue
sour · gin
Yes, the blue is set design more than flavor, and I've made peace with that. Keep the violette and the orange flower water tiny — floral ingredients cross from perfume to soap in about a teaspoon. Pour the curaçao down the side last, or you've made yourself a pond.
Ingredients
- 1½ ozBeefeater gin
- ¼ ozcrème de violette
- ¾ ozfresh lemon juice
- ½ ozsimple syrup
- 3 dropsorange flower water
- —blue curaçao — a slip poured down the side of the glass so it layers on the bottom; not shaken with the rest
Garnish
edible flower petals
Method
Add all ingredients except for the blue curaçao into a shaker with ice and shake vigorously. Double-strain into a coupe glass. Garnish with edible flower petals. Pour a slip of blue curaçao down the side of the glass so that it layers on the bottom.
