Blackberry Mint Julep Margarita
Juleps don't take lime, someone will tell you, and they're not wrong — this is a smash in a borrowed cup. Press the mint, don't punish it; the añejo's oak is doing the bourbon's job here, and the honey covers the rest. First Saturday in May, nobody's checking credentials.
Ingredients
- 5blackberries
- 6mint leaves
- 1 ozhoney syrup
- 2 ozañejo tequila
- 1 ozfresh lime juice
Garnish
2 speared blackberries and a mint sprig
Method
Add blackberries, mint leaves and honey syrup to a cocktail shaker and gently muddle. Add tequila, lime juice and ice and shake until well-chilled. Strain into a Julep cup over crushed ice. Garnish with 2 speared blackberries and a mint sprig.
