Weddings, New Year's, any evening that starts with someone handing you a flute. Shake everything but the champagne, which goes in the glass afterward — bubbles and a sealed shaker disagree, loudly. It's a gin sour in formalwear, and I'm usually the one saying so.
Ingredients
- 2 ozgin — London Dry preferred; seems to go with the champagne, but regular gin is fine
- ¾ ozlemon juice
- ¾ ozsimple syrup
- 2 ozchampagne
Garnish
lemon
Method
Add gin, lemon juice, and simple syrup in a shaker with ice; shake. Pour into glass (flute) and add 2 oz of champagne. Garnish with lemon...enjoy!
