Gin Spritz

Name: Gin Spritz
Ingredients: 1 oz Gin; 1 oz Amaro — Amaricano Bianca is really good here; top Sparkling wine — chilled; for a bright, celebratory spritz

The amaro is what keeps this from being gin and soda with ambitions, giving the botanicals something to push against. Equal parts gin and amaro, then top with sparkling wine cold enough to matter. Acceptable at brunch, which I have used as a defense.

Ingredients

topSparkling wine — chilled; for a bright, celebratory spritz

Method

Add gin and amaro to a shaker filled with ice and shake if you want a frothy concoction; otherwise, build in a highball glass like a normal drink. Top off with chilled sparkling wine.
