Ingredients: 1½ oz Gin — Empress gives it a nice blue/purple color; 1 oz Vodka; ½ oz Salers gentian aperitif — instead of Lillet - adds a spicier note; ½ oz Creme de violette; 2 dashes Lemon bitters; Brandied cherry and lemon peel

Gin and vodka in the same glass, which is already a decision, and then violette and gentian on top of it. Half an ounce of the violette and not a drop more, because an ounce of it and you are drinking a scented candle. It comes out the colour of a bruise, which is somehow the appeal.

Ingredients

1½ ozGin — Empress gives it a nice blue/purple color
1 ozVodka
½ ozSalers gentian aperitif — instead of Lillet - adds a spicier note
½ ozCreme de violette
2 dashesLemon bitters

Garnish

Brandied cherry and lemon peel

Method

Add all ingredients into a mixing glass with ice and stir until well-chilled. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a skewered brandied cherry and half-moon lemon peel.
