The Millionaire
sour · bourbon
Pale pink foam under grated nutmeg, promising dessert and then delivering a licorice-streaked whiskey sour. The absinthe is the entire risk here — a quarter ounce reads as perfume, anything past that reads as a dare, so start low and climb. I overpoured once and could still taste it the next morning.
Ingredients
- 2 ozbourbon
- ¾ ozGrand Marnier
- ¼ ozabsinthe — or pastis or Pernod; this can be overpowering, so you might want to back this down
- ½ ozgrenadine
- ½ ozegg white — typically this is 1/2 of one egg white
- ½ ozfresh lemon juice
Garnish
Nutmeg
Method
Add all ingredients into shaker with ice. Shake and pour into a chilled cocktail glass; garnish with nutmeg. Enjoy!
