Steve's Perfect Manhattan
manhattan · bourbon · rye
The dry vermouth is what changes the whole thing — half the sweet swapped out, so the sugar steps back and the whiskey has to carry the drink itself. Keep the split even; perfect describes the ratio, not my decision-making. This is the one I make when someone is watching me make it.

Steve’s notes
For something a bit different: use Port instead of vermouth in the Manhattan.
